I was surprised how stiff and scratchy it was when I received it, but I just thought, "oh well, at least it seems to be rain proof and can be easily wipe clean." It's definitely stiff enough to work as a sun hat which was the reason why I bought it. I bought this for my then 3 month old daughter. This hat is way to big for a 3 month old. She just turned 6 months old, and I dug out this hat again, and it is still too big. The circumference of my baby's head at 6 months is at 44 percentile. This hat looks like it will fit a toddler better than a baby. So I will put this away and tried it on her again when she turns 1 year old.
Cute hat but just a bit disappointed that she can't wear it, and not a fan of how the material feel either.
