(More customer reviews)They are cute and I love the non-toxic aspect of it. They say it gets softer with more washing. The surface fabric is soft - that's not the problem. The actual body of the rabbit is stuffed so full of stuffing that it's very hard - almost like a firm fabric ball. You could hurt someone if you threw it at them - that's how hard it is. I don't think washing more is going to help with that since there's really nowhere for the excess stuffing to spread out to. We have two of them and they are smaller in size than I had expected (although the size is listed, somehow I just thought it would be a little bigger!) A cute product but definitely not appropriate for what I had purchased it for (a "lovey" for my little girl - this would not be very cuddly since it's so hard).
