(More customer reviews)This is one of the first items I ordered for our baby boy. The side snap opening of the kimono allows for comfortable fit and easy dressing and undressing. Never got to try it with the umbilical cord healing, but I imagine the style would be especially good for newborns for that reason. There are two inside snaps and two outside snaps.
The material is 100% organic cotton, made in India. Terry on the outside and a super soft, smooth cotton on the inside against baby's skin. It's a light weight terry and is suitable across seasons. The color combo is adorable! The off-white pant legs are wide cut with 2 1/2" of matching blue trim (for size 3-6 mo)at the cuff and blue draw tie and blue, fancy stitched seams at the waist. Built for comfort! The waist has double elastic that's on the looser side (i.e. no indentations on baby's skin from wearing), and the draw string reminds me of a karate belt. Rather than a cord, it is a flat sturdy cotton of approx 1 1/4" wide finished with a subtle herring bone design. No danger of losing the ends inside the waist and no safety hazard! And the particular shade of blue is very beautiful.
I've found Zah Organics to make very high quality baby clothing at affordable prices. Their materials include a wide variety of fabrics, too. I have a thick vest that's almost like a felted cotton for the warmer months and a summer outfit that is light-weight cotton, but not flimsy or see through. Always quality! Zah and Under The Nile are my favorites, and Zah is almost always at a better price!
