We live in a very cold, mountainous area that gets a TON of snow and I was worried about being able to keep him warm while he plays outside this year. My first thought was to buy a one-piece snow suit, but thought it would be much more cost effective to buy separates so that we would have the warmth of a good coat without the hassle of having to zip him into a full suit for a run to the grocery store. This is the way to go! My son is long in the body but fairly average in height and the jacket fits with room to grow. I have no doubts it will last until spring. I like the velcro shoulder straps on the pants (hassle free) which also fit with a little room to spare, and the fleece chest area looks much more comfortable than the full synthetic snowpants I used to wear as a kid. Plus, it's not as bulky. I read some reviews where people were concerned about the pant legs riding up, but we haven't had that issue yet. He has a pair of Land's End snow boots (which I also recommend!) and the legs stay down, over the tops nicely. Despite being a little thinner than anticipated (less bulk-yay!), the material used seems very quality. The other day my husband was zipping the jacket over the pants and my toddler started saying "hot hot hot," which I take as a good sign.
