(More customer reviews)We live in Seattle, so summer doesn't reliably start until July. Last year's 6-12 month size sun hat no longer fits my toddler, so I had to get a new one. Rather than dragging the munchkin out shopping and hearing cries of "mama! all done!" 10 minutes into our search, I figured I'd try ordering one on Amazon.
And YAY! The frog print is adorable, and totally gender neutral. My daughter liked it a lot. The hat is a soft jersey material, like a T-shirt. This surprised me because I expected it to be more canvas-like. But it holds it shape well and the brim is several layers of fabric with lots of stitching to keep it flat.
The 24 month size fits my 21 month old perfectly - her head circumference is average for her age. The ties are long enough and didn't seem to bother her. The hat stays on just fine without tying it, as long as she doesn't try to take it off. She even wore it around the house voluntarily for a while, which tells me it's pretty comfortable. Also, the brim isn't floppy so she can see out.
Even after washing the hat holds its shape, and the colors didn't fade or run (some of the other toddler hat reviews mentioned bad laundry experiences). This one is a keeper. We may order a second one for backup or to send to daycare. Hooray for Zutano!
